Underpads

Structure of Patient Underpad: the underpad is made of 5 layers with absorbent powder. 3 layers are cellulosic and include 2 tissue layers and 1 layer with pulp paste along with absorbent powder; one layer is made of an insulating PE film; and the last layer is non-woven (P.P)

Function of Patient Underpad:

It is used in the patient’s bed for absorbing the liquids and secretions; it is available to the public in pharmacies and hyper markets in ten and five-piece packs.

Features of Patient Underpad:

Anti-allergic; highly-absorbent; usable for weak and less mobile patients; with a soft and silk-nature texture; resistant to leakage of fluids into the patient’s bed

The 60×90 size of these pads are more frequently used; however, other sizes provide the patients with the option of choosing the most appropriate size based on their needs. The simple 60×90 size and winged 60×180 size are always available in the market, and the most significant features of these pads are: protecting the health and hygiene of environment and patient’s bed, and non-transmission of contagious diseases.

Application of Patient Underpad: hospitals; infirmaries; clinics; laboratories; boarding houses; nursing homes for the elderly and disable people; homes in which disabled and less mobile patients are being taken care of; and veterinary centers; also, it is used in places that pets are kept.

Behnam Teb Iranian Company produces underpads in simple (60×90) sizes, winged (60×180), (70×100), and (100×100) sizes, and other requested sizes. These pads are produced under the brands of BTI – Hamyar – Maher – Asoopad, in packs that include 10 or 5 pieces, and are available to the public at pharmacies, hyper markets, medical equipment distributing companies, and medical supply stores.
